why can't your husband do the landing at the border to save some time?

What do you mean landing at the border? When he first came to Canada was with a study visa, then he started working, he can't go back to our country (Cuba) bc they will not let him leave again, or visit any other country because we are still waiting for his resident in order to be able to get back in Canada if we leave somewhere for vacation.

Inlanders can't flagpole. They need to land at their local CIC office.

I am in Ottawa Office as well, still waiting!!!

I heard that local CIC is only by appointment, how comes you can talk to them?

It is , but I told my husband to drop by one day and see if he could talk to some one. We were lucky that the security guard let him in and he was able to ask. That's when they told him that because of cuts in their staff they didn't have enough ppl available and that appointments were taking longer (2-3 months) than expected.

When was your file sent to the Ottawa office?

I'm so happy that I found this blog with ppl in our same situation , it's just so hard to believe that they will take 2+ years. Specially when the person has everything as a regular resident (health card, temp social, pays taxes) but still can get a residence card. Patienceeeeeeee

Yes for sure, he got DM on September 9, well at least thats when the letter its dated. Out curiosity when did you first sent all you papers? We sent them May 10,2010 abd the process started July 19,2010. We were lucky that we didn't have to do the medicals again.

Good luck to you too

If you are Inland 2011 then why are you not posting on the Inland 2011 thread????
We all applied Inland 2010 and we are still waiting. If you applied November 2011 how can we relate to you, that's not much of a wait. Try waiting 2 years or more....
