I'm new to this forum and hoping someone will be able to provide me with some information. I sponsored my husband back in May of 2010. CIC started processing our file in July 19,2010 and provided us with first stage approval in June 21,2011. Three weeks ago September 9,2012 a decision was made on his file and we received a letter saying he will be contacted by his local office.
A couple of friends told us that once a decision has been made our local immigration office sends him a letter with an appointment date to sign his papers and send the request to get the PR card. ‘Supposedly' this letter/appointment date doesn't take too long.
Given that we have been waiting one month for the letter to arrive, my husband decided to go today to the immigration office and was told that appointment dates were not available anytime soon and that it would take 2 to 3 months for him to get the letter due to personnel shortage (government cuts).
I was wondering if any of you are/were in this position, and how long it has taken/took for you to receive the letter with the appointment date.
Thanks for your responses!
why can't your husband do the landing at the border to save some time?aagarcia said:Hi guys:
