Yes I agot AIP on April. I will requeste the OWP but I'm not sure if I will get the visa entry when I come back. I enter as visitor and oversatayed until my husband submitted the sponsorhip application.
I'm afraid I will not be able to come back.
I was thinking on sending CIC aletter regarding this matter so maybe they can expedite my case. Do you think that may work?Overstaying is always a bad idea when filing for any other applications later. What you must do first is check out if you can apply for "restauration of status". I don't know this application at all, but I know it excists for these cases. It means that if they find out you've been overstaying, they'll not cancel any other applications. Don't apply for the OWP yet. CIC might think you're outside Canada right now. Demanding your OWP might complicate things.
Yes, for visa exempt visitors, the OWP stays valid when re-entering.
If you haven't gotten your US police certificates, I think you should get all of them right away and send them to CIC as soon as possible.
As for Singapore: send a letter to CIC PR deparment asking them to send you a letter for the Singapore office as soon as possible to limit any delays. That's all you can do, after that you'll have to await CIC's next move.
Tip for people that need to call CIC a lot: if you can program your telephone with the 'pause' option, you could program your CIC entry with: 18882422100PP111100 (two times 'Pause', or reprogram the Pause timer, because the CIC computer is slow picking up the phone). See your phone manual on how to program a Pause. On phones that run on the land line, there's often a big pause button you can press.
