INLAND APPLICATIONS 2010

I've visited my family and friends in The Netherlands. Pretty last minute, but my parents insisted that we would come over for some time. Especially since my work permit is about to expire and I can't really travel under implied status. On the way back I had to pass by Immigration again (if the waiting line of over half an hour for customs wasn't enough, we had to wait in line for over an hour at immigration). Went pretty fast in the end, the IO just didn't know how to deal with my visitor records, so I'll need to call CIC Call Center again. Also we finally got to know that CIC Vegreville received our application!! She said they received it at November 30th, but I suppose she meant that they opened the envelope on that day. At least we're in proces and I don't have to worry that my mail got lost along the way!

Minor detail: eCas still doesn't give any info.

Anyways: I updated my part of the list...

Thanks Jurjen for sharing your update and letting us know how your trip was. Hope you had a good time with friends and family.

I will update the whole chart probably later tonight since I need to sleep now because I have been up since 9 pm last night. And yes I do have my sleeping pattern screwed up thanks to my lovely husband whom works overnights, makes me want to be up at the same times as him. Anyway I will update as soon as I have time wake up clearly. I also have an update to contribute too. More on that tonight too.

Janadian: I am so enlightened to hear that you and your hubby are going about this calmly. It is true that if you know you are a true, honest, and genuine couple then you have nothing to hide or worry about. I will be waiting for your good news. I will be thinking about you. What time does the interview start by the way? You know that you have all the luck in the world sent from me. Hopefully it reaches there in time since I sent a lot of it. Remember most of all. LOVE CONQUERS ALL. No matter what they can not tear your love apart and make sure you let them know that. You go get them girl.

Also as I have heard varying accounts from good experiences to bad, what type of questions do they ask during the AIP interview? Thanks in advance to everyone for your patience, understanding and peace and love to you all

Good luck with your interview ! And from my own experience you and your spouse go in seperatley .

The questions asked are generally about your relationship , like whats your spouse's faveroute meal and what side of the bed does he/she sleep on.

Random question for my Inlanders....I was looking at the CIC website today (which made me a bit sad because they slowed down after they zipped through holiday season and are processing at about 9 months). Does anyone have any idea, on average because I know every case is different, how long it takes after AIP to land?

I am currently a student and would love to pay the same fees as a resident instead of international fees so I am just trying to figure out about how long it will take after AIP (the initial 9 months) to land. This is all making the assumption that everything goes to plan which is totally out of our control :. I can't believe I am almost half way through the initial waiting period.

I got my AIP 27th April 2010 and landed inland at Vancouver on 20th May 2010, less than 4 weeks. From what I have read and understand from others, it appears that not only is the backlog times of your local immigration office taken into consideration but also if there are any background checks still being done at the time of the AIP.

It appears, that all my checks, both medical and background, had been approved and passed at the AIP stage, hence the short time frame for my landing.

Just got my app all printed off and one question for any one that was applying as an American to come here...for the FBI clearance we printed off the page for fingerprints from the FBI. Is this ok to be on paper or do we need a fingerprint card (i.e. thicker).

Aww I am sure it is the longest day ever for sure. So where are you located because I am pretty sure I may be asleep when you post an update. I am in Newfoundland so we are an hour and a half ahead of EST. I think the day is good luck because my lucky number has always been 111. My updates aren't that great but they are okay.

OK...confused now. Fiance has been here 1.5 yrs out of status but from what I read in government literature you can only apply for restoral of status if you are within 90 days of it expiring. So do we still send in the form and fee anyways? Also with so many forms and different fees do we get seperate money orders for each fee and write on each one what it is for?

UGH haven't even started process yet and my head is swimming!
