i got my landing letter today!

my landing appointment is March 1st. in Etobicoke. letter is dated Feb 14.

> i gotta bring my original valid passport
> my sponsor
> 2 photos for each person on application - that would be me only

in letter it says that for my convenience, Service Canada representatives will be at this interview to assist me in obtaining new SIN. i have to bring my current SIN card there.

theres instructions for the photos included. photos have to be stamped at the back with the date when they were taken.

so yay! to me

Congrats Asta... I can't believe i am saying this but i am hoping not to get any interview date till 1st week of April..

Thanks, every one esp. those who provided lots of good information as response to my questions. I really appreciate it. This thread is like family to me now and I've learned so much here.

Well, you wouldn't believe this: the CIC called me again after they received our new app in which I wrote a compelling cover letter. Guess what, this person, in her phone message, told me our original application did NOT get lost. They had our old package and it was entered in their system on Jan. 26! Holy cow!! I was totally thrilled and my wife is very happy too. On the other hand, it shows that how incompetent those call agents are. I doubt that I will ever trust them again.

Anyway, I am not sure whether Jan.26 is the day they started looking at our app. Anyone knows this?

Now guess we just need to cross fingers and wait patiently. One thing I am worried about is my wife's out-of-status. She came as a visitor and over stayed her status before we got married. I can't seem to find any way to renew her status because it seems too late. We submitted an inland application because we didn't want to live apart. And more important, on the Guide, it says it's okay the applicant is out of status. According to one other earlier posts here, chance might be high that my wife will be called in for an interview?
