Hello there, I am a Canadian Permanent resident and engaged to an Indian girl recently in June in India. Is it possible for the girl to come to canada and then we will get married here in canada and then apply for her PR from here? Does she have to leave canada once her visa expire? can she apply for work permit while her PR file is in process? and how long it will take for the entire process to complete?

Yes - it's possible. The first step is to obtain a tourist visa (there is no guarantee the tourist visa will be approved). She can remain in Canada while the inland application is being processed. If you include an open work permit application with the inland application - she will receive an open work permit around 4 months after the application is submitted. You should expect the entire application process to take around 2 years (could take longer or shorter). During this time, your wife should not leave Canada since her application may end up being canceled if she is unable to re-enter the country.

CIC never asks anyone to leave and re-enter. They only ask people to leave.
