Hi, Aiman

when I got my AIP i took the letter to them and told them i'm approved to be sponsored but the person told me "you still have to report until we see what happens to your application" i'm guessing the CBSA officer might not know that I should stop reporting, or the officer just wanna be a pain to make my life more difficult, who knows but i have to do the report on in few days again and I will take my second stage approval letter that I received today to them and hopefully they will leave me alone.

where are you if you don't mind me asking?

Oh we'll that's great just show then ur second stage approval... I'm sure u can do it... Good luck !
It's just this reporting is a pain in the ass. It makes u feel like ur a criminal

just wondering how long from the time u receive your DM and they ask for copy of my Passport, and the final payment of 490.00 will it take to get my PR card. Does this mean they waived my interview?

my husband needs to re-do his medical hopefully not long after that decision will be made ...

Update: Received 2 letter, one from CIC alberta and one from etobicoke stating my date of landing i.e 16th Oct.

Finally this is Over!!! I am so happy!

hi guys, my wife and me in quebec for tourism(i have tourist visa) and i want to ask some questions:
-can we apply as family for CSQ from inside quebec
-how long it will take (how many monthes)
-can we start working during the process time of our CSQ or we have to wait until we get the approval? if we can't work so will they help us financially(if no so how can we live without money)
- can we stay over there during the process time of our CSQ or we should go back to our country until they take decision about our CSQ
-should we know french or our english language is enough
-is our conditions are sufficient or not (i am 26 years old and have bachelor of information technology and computing, with 1-2 years of experience in web development very good in English no french married with no children my wife 25 years old she studied nursing in Technical Institute and she has 4-5 years of experience in Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) in american university hospital in Beirut, good to very good in English with no french )

please share you experience...

one more question can i search for job me or my wife and get a job offer if yes can we get work permit to stay and work during the process time?
regards

Hi,

this should answer your question:
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/temporary-workers/stay-quebec/application-csq/workers-quebec/when-where-submit.html

Basically, if you are here on a tourist visa you cannot apply for a CSQ within Quebec - it must be done from your home country. But if you are a temporary worker in Quebec you can apply within Quebec.

Applying for a CSQ: Your ages are perfect, however your occupations may cause some problems. Quebec is now only processing applicants with specific skills from specific occupation categories, read the following: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/index.html
Languages: you must prove your proficiency in either English or French (whichever you choose in your application). This is done via standardized tests (that you undertake in your country), and the results from which are submitted along with your CSQ application. Your wife is a nurse? - I'm not sure if it will be recognized in Canada - she may have to take a course here to be accredited. Also, she will have to have fluent french if she wishes to practise this profession in Quebec.

Processing times depend to which office you need to send the application to: can be between 10 to well over 36 months.

Quebec will not help you financially. On the contrary, when you fill the application form you will sign an additional form to declare that you will have enough money to support yourselves (this amount is dictated by Quebec) for a certain number of months (length of time is dictated by Quebec).

You can search for a job, yes. If you do happen to get a job offer you must apply from outside of canada and not within canada. If you become a temporary worker in quebec, you can then apply for a CSQ - and if you have a good knowledge of French, the processing of your application will be more effecient than if you were to apply abroad. However, finding a job in Canada as a foreigner is extremely difficult, but you can always try.

A DM would be beyond anything other than the landing interview (which is about finalizing your change of status not about finalizing your application).

Time to get the initial PR card is reported on the CIC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp

They presently are reporting 61 calendar days, so two months.
