i never read anywhere that you are not allowed to leave Canada if you are doing inland application... i guess all the depends on border officer... you can probaly come back as visitors..not sure
The regulations do not say you are prohibited from leaving. What they do say is that you must be inside Canada for your application to be finalized. So if you are refused re-entry, your application will be abandoned. I know I have read that CBSA border officers are strongly discouraged from refusing re-entry to a spousal applicant on an inland application, but they are not prohibited from doing so. Thus, this is a risk balancing activity - if you get a BSO in a very foul mood they could refuse you re-entry and if you cannot overcome that refusal your application would be abandoned (so that's the risk). BUT it is really rather unlikely to happen.suziii said:i never read anywhere that you are not allowed to leave Canada if you are doing inland application... i guess all the depends on border officer... you can probaly come back as visitors..not sure

Just got emaisl from CIC-V that our sponsorhip has been approved. Our applicantion was received by CIC on Nov 30, 2011, and started processed on Feb 7th, 2012. However, the web status has not changed yet. Just for your reference.

canadianwife43 said:NO NO an OWP does not give u re-entry, you are not allowed to leave Canada until all is complete and u receive PR. I would not take the chance and leave, all it would take is one PO with a bad attitude and a bad day, to deny u entry and your application is void. Please don't take the chance

Thus, it's a measure of your risk tolerance.
