Hello everyone!

Anyone from BC here or landing office is Vancouver? Just want to know how long do we have to wait for the landing interview. Thank you!

Yay,anyone notice that cic changed processing time for stage 1, from 11 month to 10 month? :)

Ok so my case has been updated in ECAS today! It now says:

We received X's application for permanent residence on November 10, 2011.

We started processing X's application on September 5, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on X's application. The office will contact X concerning this decision.

So, what does this mean? Is that first or second stage approval? How long before I find out!?!?

Thank you! And you are correct, I just got it verified over the phone!

So, for anyone interested, here is my complete timeline. I applied inland with my common law partner as a Sponsor.

We had lived together for 358 days at the time of application, because I had to apply before my holiday work visa ran out, to retain implied status. I'm from Sweden, if that matters at all.

Oct 20 2011: Medical exam done
Oct 24 2011: All fees payed (including OWP and PR fee)
Nov 06 2011: Application mailed to CIC
Nov 10 2011: Application received by CIC (did not know this at the time)
Jan 25 2012: ECAS updated to reflect that application was received November 10
Sep 05 2012: Sponsor approved (first stage approval), OWP issued and sent in letter (haven't received yet)
Sep 07 2012: Second stage approval, case sent to Vancouver Visa office

According to the call center it will take about 3 months for Vancouver VISA office to finalize the application. But in a few days I will have my OWP and thus no longer on implied status, which means I can travel again!

Thanks for the reply raabhim! Wow! That long eh?! But we can't really do anything but wait! The only problem we have now is that we are booked to visit family in December! Now I don't know what to do:( Does OWP good enough to travel back here. My husband is from a visa-exempt country.

Congratulations on your first and second stage approval. I don't think the OWP allows you to travel outside of Canada though. I have mine and it says right on it with bold letter "This does not authorize re-entry".

NO NO an OWP does not give u re-entry, you are not allowed to leave Canada until all is complete and u receive PR. I would not take the chance and leave, all it would take is one PO with a bad attitude and a bad day, to deny u entry and your application is void. Please don't take the chance
