I'm not so sure of that, I heard from many applicants that the lawyers sometimes forget to send the applications, ommit information, and since CIC send them all letters, sometimes Lawyers forget to forward the information right away... I would say that 90% of the applicants in this forum did the whole process by themself... is not that complicated, you have this forum to answer anyquestions based in their own experience... do not spend unnecesary money at less, you have a very very complicated case, of which you can go see them for advice only.under_way said:hi all,
so it was brought to my attention that if you go through immigration process
your self...chances are the response will be slow, however if you have a lawyer
things go alot faster and easier...
how true is that?...anyone has experience with a lawyer
slock said:Hi All,
This is my first time posting although I've been visiting this forum for a long time. It's been super helpful in trying to figure out this whole process.
CIC received our application on August 4, 2011.
I received news of acceptance as the sponsor on June 21, 2012. On the ecas system it says decion made for me, but in process for my partner with the date of June 21, 2012 as 'began processing application' date.
I'm just curious, as it seems that most people's applications have a 'began processing date' that follows closely on the application received date, whereas ours doesn't. Also, we haven't received AIP which is what it appears most early August candidates are getting right now. Any ideas? Am I missing something? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks!
If you already got your AIP, when you click "In Process," you can see when they started to process the second stage.cililoca said:mine is like yours, if you click in decision made in mine it will say started processing september 27th 2011 but if you click in the in process button it says they started processing June 25th. I think it may be related to your second stage, but dont worry, if they gave you your decision made they are working on it just like everybody else!!!
Hello yffAm,yffAm said:Thanks again! Another question ;D coz I already sumitted our application just yesterday and I did enclose the letter u told me. Thanks much for that. I didnt had a chance to include my police clearance along the application coz I wasnt able to get it b4 I submitted the whole application. So how can I submitted my police clearance once I received it and where should I submit it to?
That's good to know! When I spoke to an agent at the call center he was adamant about sending everything together and said if I didn't then paying for an OWP after sending the PR app is like throwing away your money and it would be better off - at that point - to wait because it might not be processed at the same time and you very well could receive your PR approval before the other OWP is seen and approved.Markm said:You can send your OWP in after you send your application - you need to write a letter of direction, including your names, client #s, the OWP app and payment receipt, and a request that they attach it to your application. Also, include a reason why you didn't include with the original app (we just wrote that a lawyer gave us bad advice). Make sure it's polite, and succinct.
This is what we did - we sent the OWP about 6 months after the application, and received our stage 1 approval AND the OWP on the same day.

I was just relaying my own experience however, I'm glad to hear people can send it in later!
Good luck & thanks for the clarification Markm!

Thank you! I was answering someone else's question about the OWP, I personally sent my OWP with my application .qw123 said:you can send your OWP upon receiving AIP....you will definitely need AIP as that will be the like saver while your second stage is in process. Your second stage unfortunately may not come as fast as we have seen it.
the reason is your medical was done in june 2011 and if you dont redo your medical now you will be asked to redo it later in September. your medical can be extended to 15 months which will make it expire in early September. Good luck...just a hint for you to avoid any delay
If i were you i will redo the med now as it will take 3 months to get into their system
that's fine thanks anyways..TheProfessorsWife said:Hello yffAm,
I'm not sure about that :-[, I know that if something is missing, like police certificate, they will send you a letter in the mail once they start processing the application and ask for it which slows the process down.
Where to go from here - I'm not sure. I sent everything with my application; so perhaps someone else on the forum can answer your question?
Otherwise you might want to ring the call center and ask. So sorry I'm not much help there. I don't want to direct you wrong.

It will be a risk to take 4-5 months wait if you wait until they request it ...so u looking at jan 2013 to be over. If they do request it it will be mentioned on the same letter as AIP.TheProfessorsWife said:Thank you! However your advice about the medical is very helpful to me!!! Thank you for the heads up qw123 Do you know where I would send the the medical into (I sent my application to Vegreville, would it be there with a letter attached with my client ID and yada yada yada) and should I wait until they start processing the application to send it, or go ahead and send it now? Because they might/probably start processing the application sooner than September...

This is a first hand experience.vinlander said:If I understand correctly, once we get the CSQ and AIP as Quebec resident we can then ask for the RAMQ card right ?
Anyone from province of Quebec can share how it was easy and where we should do that in Montreal ?
thank you
