absolutely. However you need to call the call center to send you another copy as this is unusually long. you need AIP to apply for health care so you dont have to waste time on the 3 month waiting period.

I applied for OWP the same day they approved my AIP, I did not wait for any letter. I did it online and pay online as if I had already received the AIP letter. It took 25 days to have owp in my mailbox valid for 1 yr. see my signature below.

now whether it's worth or not depend on your status and plans. you should have had DM by now..not sure what's the hold here but...if you are in status and no need to work then no worth to apply for owp. but if you need owp to have legal status or need money so need to work then it's worth as only God knows how much more time you have to wait...
yeah i did call the call centre and the agent told me its gonna be resend..the thing is though i don't
have a job offer, would that be a problem
i was thinking maybe the whole process would be over soon, because they haven't requested
any additional info..and that decision made was since may 23rd

well, with AIP you dont need to be legal nor have a job offer...just goahead and apply online they will prompt you with questions to answer you choose AIP and process very easy...with AIP you will get it 200% no worries. no need for job offer or medical to be done...

you are not near the finish line...as even if they finish your stage 2 it still can take few months before your landing. so all depend on you whether you want to work or wait unexpectedly hoping.. again no need of a job offer. good luck.

I think you are in trouble already or soon....becasue they usually tell you to submit more documents like medical or what have you and gives you 90 days....you cannot tell now whether thy ask for more doc or not because you still have not received you AIP letter...IF THEY NEED YOU TO SEND SOME STUFF THEY WILL MENTIONED ON THE SAME LETTER (AIP LETTER)....SO WATCH OUT

whether its first or both...depend on the message when u clicked on status next to your name to open it up:

once inside....

if its just decision made then first stage only

if it's detailed as such: We sent you a letter on June 4, 2012 to ..., Montreal, Quebec, Canada, about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us. this is both stages
Hi there,

I don't wanna sound...idk... but I believe the info above is not totally right. Only stage 1 has been approved. You have two links: "Decision Made" and "In Process," decision made on stage 1 and in process stage 2.

Does anyone know if Having AIP and OWP allows you to travel out of Canada or is it still "dangerous" without the PR?
If you have a valid multiple entries Canadian visa, there is no problem at all. I've done it, I only got AIP and OWP. Now again, you need to have a VALID MULTIPLE ENTRIES CANADIAN VISA....

At some point over the weekend, my ecas updated to say "Medical results have been received."

That's good, because they were 12 months old as of June 14th, so I'm guessing that means I got the waiver. Come on CIC, finish processing! ;D

well, income is not required only if you are in Quebec. I am gonna tell you what I think whether income is required or not:

If you do RCMP, it takes about 3 weeks for you to get the clearance letter from them which you will add to your file.
For your husband proof of income, it will be a good thing to send the out as well.

Well see, sending more docs proactively is not a bad thing at all. all depends on cic time line regarding more doc request. Back in April, CIC was taking 40 days to open your received file and attach it. you are still three months away, considering your RCMP clearance letter is been received.

people do their own RCMP because it can make it quicker for CIC to issue a decision. I have done it. the fingerprint agency did mine electronically rather than cards and soon after i got the clearance letter from RCMP. over all my applic took a bit longer as they asked for more proof of relationship like mariage certficate, lease, common accts and so on which i had provided but maybe lost.

If I were you all in all, I will go ahead and send these (if have client ID# of course). write your client ID# on them or on a cover letter and tell them to attach it to your PR package. It will take them about 45 days to attach it and will rather make your app faster.
Thank you qw123 for your quick and detailed answer, just want to confirm two things about RCMP clearance.
1.You sent RCMP clearance which says no cirminal record, not just the fingerprint, right?
2. You asked RCMP to send your clearance to CIC directly, or you asked RCMP to send it to you, and you then sent it to CIC with your other docs? There seems to have a place on the RCMP clearance application form asking for your CIC ID number and the office deals with your application. If you want the result sent to you, how did you deal with the form?

for your fist point: i did not do mine on paper so couldnt get to send any fingerpint card...as i said i did it electronically and that's it...if you go to the agency you will see they will offer electronic...do that and after couple of weeks you will get the clearance letter automatically from RCMP saying you have no crimes done...this is the letter you will send and not your actual print to CIC.
you have nothing to asked to anyone to send what to where. it"s automated.

I keep reading about RCMP for fingerprint or police report, I thought it was the one from the immigrant origin country that was needed in the file ?
My wife is from Germany and we sent her police clearance report she had requested in Germany just before she came and we also got a certified french translation of it.
Will we need to also go to RCMP for fingerprint ?

Only if CIC requests it. It's generally NOT required.
