I am so frustrated! I see everybody getting their PR and I am still waiting! Mine is a very simple case, both of us are first marriage, no kids, no big age gap nothing! We had our first stage approved on June 25 and since then waiting for second stage. they requested new police certificates and they received them in August. No word from immigration since. I am already working, which makes it easier, but it really pissed me off why they are taking so long to finish mine, while most people are all done under 1 year. I am just venting, I can't understand immigration, hopefully they will work on my process anytime soon.

Hi Cilioca. So sorry to hear about your long wait. Based on what I read in this forum, it seems like most 2012 applicants are already getting AIP and stage 2 this early; while most 2011 are stuck with either waiting for stage 2 DM or no AIP at all. The processing time for AIP has shortened significantly. Based on the website, Stage 1 takes only 6 months now.

Just be a lil bit patient. If you sent docs last August, you might be getting Stage 2 DM anytime this month. I think Labhouise also sent her additional docs a few months ago--and she got stage 2 DM last week. Good luck. God bless.

Well we got an unexpected email for a sunday afternoon; my wife received her 2nd stage PR DM through email, they are really working hard on that backlog it seems.
Funny as we were back from walking our dog early this afternoon my wife peeked into the mailbox and I made the remark, nah sweetheart there won't be any 2nd stage letter on a Sunday... 3 hours later we receive the email .
Tomorrow we will have double celebration, our wedding anniversary and the PR DM ;)

Thanks kitchener_inland - now we need to get you landed so you can celebrate as well. :)

thank you computergeek, I can't wait!! those last 10 days seem the longest all of a sudden :D
would be nice if we all had one big party.
just the thought of me not having seen my parents for soo long and finally we might able to see them soon makes me wanna cry even though I've not cried as a man.

on the side note a quick question, when a person is landing inland they don't stamp any PR visa or anything on passport or travel document correct? i'm guessing the visa stamp is only for outland app? the reason I'm curios is because my travel document is only valid until feb, 26th and most likely my passport won't reach me by OCT,26th which is my interview date.

I'd expect that you'd end up with the same thing, but someone who has landed inland will need to comment and confirm. Thus, I'd think you'd still need to have a notation in your Passport that you landed. They stapled my copy of the COPR into my passport as well, and I'm sure you'll get a copy of the COPR.

Sad this stuff is all so complicated...

Hi kitchener inland. Congrats on your landing date. As a reply to your query, here's my timeline:

App sent : Jan. 25, 2012
Starting processing on : May 22, 2012
AIP : Sept 19, 2012
Stage 2 DM : Sept 20, 2012
Landing on : Oct 15, 2012

Total waiting time from the time I sent my application up to the date of my landing : 8.5 months

Mine is simple case. Under spouse category, no dependents, no kids. We didn't hire any lawyer. Did the medical on Feb 2012. Sent the police clearance from my country in the same PR application in January 2012. Didn't pay the $490 fee yet. Will pay that when I land.

Everything came in so fast. Honestly, I was expecting to complete the whole process by 2013 because I only sent my application on January 25, 2012. But now, I can't believe that I will be landing within the next 20 hours. :) OMG !

Congratulation johanna!
thank you for the timeline update.
this is so nice, your timeline is a nice lean one :) mine took 14 months but honestly i'm not complaining at all. there are many people who have been waiting much longer and it must be very frustrating for them, its nice to see people now getting their applications processed quick as its not an easy process for most family to go through it.

cheers!

Same here...
Something is wrong with the august batch.
I am like You with a very simple case, first marriage no kids etc... and still people are getting the whole process approved after 9 months only applying 5 months after us.
I am happy for all of the people approved but something is terribly wrong there.
The thing is that you can't talk to anyone and the agents are obviously useless not because they want to be but because they don't have any access to real data.
Are there any other august 2011 applicants here that didn't get DM ?
Frustration is not how we really feel,is more like angry of being so out of control of our lives.

I see, hopefully when Johanna lands tomorrow she'll update us. i just hope when I get my new passport which wouldn't have that landing stamp since its arriving after my interview date it won't make the validity of my PR any less valuable for travel since it won't show anything on my new passports besides having my PR card separately.

Congrats :)

By the way, you don't need to wait three years due to the fact you can include the time you reside in Canada while waiting for your PR :)

Maybe we got the same immigration officer that is a pain and will give people a hard time. I have no idea what goes through their minds but now I am working and at least that makes life way better. I am not too pissed because now I have my health card and a job! I do want to start a degree online but sometime next year, by the time I actually start I hope I already have my PR.

I am really happy for the people that got it so fast, just think it's unfair with us, it's like someone is passing in front of you in the line up after you are standing there for so long. hehe Anyway, when I have any update I will come here and let everybody know.

Hi, vincestress

did you send the requested documents in time? usually second stage concentrates mostly on Security checks and medicals, if the application is complete usually they sate "the application is complete and the office will contact you" hopefully it won`t be anything negative.
