It's ok gemauru,
most applications are opened after an average of 2 months. I'm sure they will update your situtation pretty soon

Hi Gemauru,

I wonder why you cannot sign in with your client id number. I am sure it is ok though. Don't worry about it.

Hi Guys,

I didn't enter the client ID on the app, I just realized we have one after I sent the app...
Im still fine, I check every day hoping 1 day something different will come up... :D

Welcome Ryan!!!!! Come around... make yourself comfortable, join us in our "waiting life"!!!!!! ;)

Thanks for the welcome guys, i've been a long time lurker in this forum and it helped me a lot during the preparations. Now the next step is to find out my client ID number :) In approximately how many days after should i contact CIC for one?

Gemauru and Ryan,

Have you guys ever extended your visitor status since you have been here?

Yes... is the nbr on the extention the one that I'm using.
I'm also trying the receipt nbr. But same result with both...

Gemauru,

I would call the call centre and give them your client id number and see what they say. Maybe your file has been opened and it just has not shown up on e-cas yet.

This is still my 5th month in Canada, so i have not extended my visitor status. I sent an OWP application together with PR application, am i right to assume i have implied status until i hear from CIC? are they going to send me a visa extension letter?

Hi Ryan,

I am not sure the answer to your question. Maybe try posting it in the Inland 2010 thread or even better, call CIC and ask them. I have heard that you do not need to send it in as you would be on implied status but then again some people say it is good to send it in because it shows CIC that you are doing things the proper way.

Just an FYI for everyone, I HIGHLY recommend to send in police clearances from any country that you have lived for more then 6 months over the age of 18. Even your home country. It will cut down the process should they request it.

Hi Angtao,

This link was my basis: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5289E.asp

there is a notation below that says legal immigration status is not required if you have a sponsor. I hope i got the correct assumption
