Inland applicants : does existing TRV get cancelled on receiving PR visa?

I received PPR today, and would send them the passport tomorrow. However, I need to travel out of the country and not do the landing while I return from the trip. My question is, does CIC cancel existing temporary visas when they send me back the passport with PR visa?
If they do not cancel, then I can use my existing study permit and TRV for the travel.

So I know it gets cancelled on landing, but wanted to know if it gets cancelled before when we send our passports to Ottawa?
