Inland application first applied Oct 2015 then application returned for more info on her 21 y/o dependent and a missing signature. Application resent and got AOR Aug 24 saying they received application July 8th 2016 . Ecas shows in process. We have not heard anything from CIC yet. Should we expect medical request soon. Her background check was sent with original application do you think that will have to be redone because they will expire.

I am the sponsor and my wife is from Philippines. We originally applied with OWP however at time we applied she was in status but because the application was returned she was out of status.

She is freaking out because she hasn't been able to work since Oct 2015 and she hasn't seen her children back home in 4 years. I keep telling her to be patient but I think she would like to hear it from someone else.

Should we be worried or is this the normal process. We cant chek mycic because we have a rep. ( our first big mistake)

Thanks In Advance

I wouldn't worry. just be patient.
you can ask your representative to request the GCMS notes to see if there is any red flag.

Her processing times look normal. Since her complete application was received when she was out of status, she unfortunately don't qualify for the open work permit pilot and has to wait for first stage approval before the OWP will be issued.

We did ask her for GCMS notes back in January but still nothing. BTW I should mention I am Canadian Citizen she has 3 children one is 22 now the other two are minors.

there is a thread specific to 2016 applications. your experience is quite normal for inland processing.

Yes we realise that her OWP will have to wait even tho we had to pay twice lol.

Does anyone know how long normally takes for AIP

there really is no consistency. check the inland thread linked above. there is a spreadsheet that tracks application progress.

Thanks . I did check the link. We did restore her status within the 90 days however there is no way for us to check to see if her status has ever been restored.

Fingers crossed.

I assume the 22 year old wasn't included as a dependent given the dependent age is under 19?

cic asked for a form for info on him but I don't believe he was included. We will try get him here on student visa at some point.
