I just called CIC and they indicated we should be inquiring at the New Delhi office. CIC sent me the New Delhi Canadian High Commission contact information (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/new-delhi.asp) but they don't have any phone numbers. Just an inquiry form.

I think it might be best for my spouse to contact the doctor that you mentioned. If she can't get the same doctor, can another doctor pull up the same file?
CIC uses only "designated medical practitioners" (DMP) for immigration medicals. They are specifically authorized to conduct medical exams and have to follow CIC protocols and use CIC forms/info. etc. So another doctor cannot be substituted unless they are also an authorized DMP.

Sorry I meant another DMP other than the one she used in January 2013. Can any DMP pull up her file?

Hello

- Chest x-ray image corresponding to the radiological report completed on 2ND APRIL 2013 is required.
-
This is probably the date that CIC received it, I had a similar letter for my wife and it said Feb 28th even though we did the tests in December. You may be able to have your wife call the hospital directly and ask about this as they should have a record of any requests from CIC, we were able to do that in Manila.

Not sure (one would think it may be possible) so best to contact the DMP(s) directly. I think it may depend on how the systems work in ND and that I do not know.

Thank you so much! This is the answer I was looking for. When was your test date? Was it December 28?

It was around Dec 12th but when we received the letter it referred to Feb 28th, which was the date they received it,

So I guess it takes about 3 months for them to receive it. But why are they asking my wife for the x-ray image. She doesn't have it. They should be asking the DMP. No?

It sounds like they are asking for another x-ray which isn't that uncommon. That being said it's kind of hard to tell from their wording.

So the best thing for her would be to contact the same DMP she worked with in january 2013?

Yes i would start there, When we contacted the doctor that did our initial tests he already had a follow up letter from CIC with the instructions for further testing. He told us what needed to be done and it was straightforward after that.

Did your wife have a similar issue where they suspected TB?

Hello

I sponsored my wife to come to Canada in May 2013. She did her medical from New Delhi on January 2, 2013. She received a letter from CIC and we are not sure why they are asking for this (especially the first point). A corresponding radiological report was not done on 2nd April as they are indicating. In fact the medical practitioner just gave my wife a receipt and we included that with the application. No other communication was done between the medical practioner and my wife about any further tests to be conducted in April. Does anyone know what this is all about? Please see the letter she received below:

Dear xxxxxx xxxxxxxxx

This is in reference to your application for a permanent resident visa application for Canada.

The results of your initial medical examinations did not establish that you meet the medical admissibility criteria of Canada's Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA). Further medical information is required before a decision can be reached.

- Chest x-ray image corresponding to the radiological report completed on 2ND APRIL 2013 is required.
- Consult chest specialist – Report must include history of TB Treatment and drug schedule used
- Sputum smears and TB cultures are required. Must be taken on three consecutive early mornings and incubated for 6 to 8 weeks (if cultures are positive, please provide Drug Susceptibility Testing results where available).

Take this letter to the Panel Physician for the medical examination(s) to be arranged.

If your original Panel Physician is not available, please follow this link for information to assist in locating a Panel Physician in your area: http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medical.aspx.

You have 30 days from the date of this letter to comply with this request. Failure to do so may result in the closing of your Immigration medical file, and may result in the refusal of your visa application.

Please do not reply to this e-mail.

Thanks
Dont worry my wife had received the same letter back in April. We went to the doctor and they re did all the test and also did the sputum test (Sputum test was not necessary but we still did it as in most cases they ask for as it takes about 2 months for the result) Evrything was normal and I had asked for GCMS notes back in June and eveything was fine. it was clearly written that Medicals passed. The reason why they ask for is they may have found scar in the lungs X ray which is very common in girls but nuthing to worry jus go to the doctors and get all the test done

Thanks for this information. Really appreciate it. Why is it very common with girls? How do they determine that the cause is TB? It could be anything even an infection or damage to the lungs from air pollution.
