Hi dear
I am new here , I m general practitioner, interested to apply Atlantic Immigration Pilot program, does it need to to pass qualifying exam to get license according to Atlantic Immigration Pilot program? Any one knows exact information of AIPP for doctors ?
Thanks

Don’t believe AIPP is an option unless you are looking to be employed in another field. Becoming licensed as a physician in Canada is extremely difficult unless you have been trained in a few countries like UK, US, SA and a few others. You have to pass 2 licensing exams and then repeat your residency. There are a few programs targeting training family doctors who are willing to go to underserviced areas but there are very few spots. For specialists (except pathologists and psychiatrists) there are almost no residency spots even if someone wanted to repeat the 2-7 years of residency. On top of that New Canadian specialists have a hard timE finding jobs when they graduate. Not sure where you are from but would recommend immigrating or moving to other countries if you want to continue practice medicine.

Just noticed you are a GP. If you do try to come to Canada your age will factor in getting selected for any of these rare spots. Since you have 15 years of training I assume you may be around 40. All these programs will want to invest in foreign doctors who are likely to work the longest and give them their.best return on investment when it co es to training. Not the only thing considered but would be something against you. The chances remain so low and the pay for GPs is not very high. You could work in the Middle East and get well compensated or move to the UK or Germany any easily get a job. Even the US is a better option if you are willing to go to more rural areas although Trump may have changed the J1 program.
