Info required regrading Police verification certification submission

Hi All,

May be this is very basic Q but your input will help me on this

Situation:
- I applied PR under CEC category 1 month before and received a mail regard my Application # 2-3 days back (mentioning my application is forwarded next)
- That time my Police certificate was not ready and I submitted my package without it mentioning once I will get it I will provide it (As it is not mandatory document and can be submitted later on ). Now I got my police certificate.

Question:
- Is it ok that I send them Police certificate by my own to CEC saying please attach this with my Package , IF YES, where to send this document ? same Sydeny NS address, mentioning my Application number OR some other address as my application is under next stage?
- Validity of police certificate is just 3 months so If I will start waiting let CEC ask then I will send then by that time it may expire and i need to apply for new one

1) All CEC applications are processed in Ottawa. So you will have to send the original PCC to the following address. You dont have to wait.

2) I would suggest send it right way. You will have to resend any way if another request comes through (As your PCC may expire by the time VO looks at your applicaiton).

Generally PCC is valid for one year, so once you submit then you don't need to submit again. But in your case its three months validay,VO may request you for new PCC when start processing your application.

Are sure on Address part which I need to send PCC? As in mail also they have not mentioned any address where I need to communicate for future communication (Just want to confirm before courier to CEC)- please don't mistake me

Yes. All CEC applications are processed at Ottawa. Also when I received the request for Hong Kong PCC,, I was told to send the original PCC to this address.

But in your case its three months validay,VO may request you for new PCC when start processing your application.

CIC sets its own standards - PCCs are considered valid for one year, the period of validity set by the issuing authority does not matter. Of course, the cannot be older than 3 months at the time you submit your application.

Guys . I am in US since Sep2016 . I was in Germany in year march 2011 . After that I have not visited Germany . I obtained the police certification last year in November . I am still waiting for my PNP nomination.. so in case my application goes to CIC this year after November . Do I still need to get a police certificate from Germany. though I have not visited germany after 2011. Will my current police verification be valid at the time of my CIC application .

same goes for Indian embassy as well. I have obtained the police certificate last year in November, but I havent gone to India since then.
for US I know I have to get which is issued with in 6 months when my application goes to CIC .

First, be aware that you revived an old thread, ignore all the information above your post, because it is out of date and no longer correct. Current rules are here:

"For any other country [other than country of residence], the police certificate must be issued after the last time you stayed there for 6 months or more in a row.

Some countries put expiry dates on their police certificates. If you have a police certificate that expired, include it. We’ll accept it if:

• it was issued after the last time you stayed there for 6 months or more in a row
• it is not for the country where you currently live

An officer may ask for a new one later on."

So, since it sounds like you currently reside in the USA, your German and Indian PCCs should be OK, since it was issued after you left the country and you have not returned. You can apply with those, and if the VO wants a new one, they will ask.
