So my wife has 3 given names and no actual family name, which is normal in Indonesia. Her passort has no spot for family and given names and simply says "full name" with all three names. Now just about every single form we both need to fill out have a need to enter a family name. For example I am currently filling out the undertaking form and the line "family name" has an asterisk beside it indicating it's a required field.. What do I do?

What does her name say on the birth certificate?

By the way, I replied to your previous thread.

Canuck_in_uk I found that on the site after posting this question

Mikeymyke, yes I read it and it was very helpful. Thank you for repeatedly helping me.

Her birth certificate says the same. Now my problem is bigger than it seems. As you know she previously applied for a study permit. Well on that application on form IMM1294 (study permit) and on form IMM5257 (TRV) we put her family name as her last given name as she uses this as her "last name" for everything and her first two names in the given name section. Now I've found the information in the link above indicating that she should have actually left the given name portion blank and put all three names in the family name section. So now I have no idea what to do as we can't put anything in the given name field as it isn't correct and we also don't want it to be considered misrepresentation on her previous application either if we report it. I also don't want to just put all 3 names in the family name field in case they refer to her previous application and notice the difference in the name... I have no idea what the best course of action here is

I have the same situation too as my Malaysian name doesn't have family name. We applied our PR, and it got accepted and now in processing. The visa office in Kuala Lumpur showed me the way to do it.

What you need to do is to leave the 'given name' blank and write all her name according to the passport in the 'family name'.
Make sure you are consistent in all the immigration forms on writing her name.

Should be no problem. I had a previous NZ visas and a TRV with putting my first two names on 'given name' and the last name on 'family name'. Now on my passport I have two TRV visas, one with the wrong format and the current one with right format. I think visa officers are familiar with certain names that don't have family last names. Just make sure your PR application follows the correct format.
