Hello Guys; just need some clarification

My spouse has a Indian passport and on the passport there is no surname only a given name.

According to CIC

1. If you do not have a family name on your passport, travel or identity document, enter all your given name(s) in the surname field and leave the given name field blank. Do not enter “Not applicable,” “*” or “NA.”

2.

  • If you don’t have a family name on your passport or travel document, enter all given names in the family name field and enter “N/A” or “Not applicable” in the given name field.

    So, which
one is it? do I put "N/A" or leave blank???????

    Second question

Schedule A form it does now allow me to validate if I leave the given name field empty.

So I am thinking of filling everything out and not to validate it and write a letter of explanation
    Is that good?
