In the Background Schedule A (Form IMM 5999), parent birth town or city field, if somebody is from a small village/hamlet, is it enough to indicate the village name, or should one indicate nearby town, county, region, Province etc?

My wife was born in a small place to which there was no road access. We just used its name as her birthplace. Did not seem to cause a problem.

Thanks, to be clear, is it right that you even did not mention that it is village/hamlet, just name alone?

Yes, just the name and the province in which it is located. We did not mention the nearest city and we did not describe it in any way. The place has a name and a detailed map would show it (not all maps of her country would show it).

I would expect if the IRCC has any concern/ curiosity about the name and location, they will ask for more detail. We were never asked.
