Hi,
I studied bachelor in Bangalore, india from 2000-2003. I suppose, I need to get police clearance for canada immigration.

I have been planning to visit Bangalore personally to get the police clearance directly. I have seen, some people, who applied for police clearance through Indian High Commission, got their certificate after 7~8 months (in some cases, some people dint get ever). Thats why i am planning to get it from india direcrly.

1) is there anyone who got the police clearance directly fron any city of India?
2) And will it be accepted by Canada immigration?

Regards..

You can apply for the Indian PCC at the Indian Embassy in your current country of residence.
Alternatively, if you are in India, you can apply for it at the nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in the city where you resided.

Thank you sushsmart15. I knew that, through indian embassy i can get it. But i wanted to know if I get it directly from bangalore without applying in the embassy, will it be accepted by canada immigration. I got my answer from your post. Thank you.
I am actually planning to visit India on tourist visa to get the clearance. People who applied through embassy, dint get even in 7~8 months. Thats why, to get it early, I have been planning to get it personally.

You can visit the PSK center in Banglore and apply for PCC assuming that you stayed in Banglore before during your stay in India.

I have the same situation, I an a non-Indian and I did my bachelor in India.
I did try to get a pcc from Indian embassy back in 2012 but I never received it. Now I am in India and would likely get ITA in a month!
the only choice is to apply through BLS but I don't know if i'm gonna get it this time :(
How much time do I have to send the pcc?

You can try approaching the nearest Passport Seva Kendra(PSK) in the city in which you are currently staying in India. Explain them your situation and humbly request them to provide you the same.
You can also try and approach the nearest Police Commissioner officer to see if they can help you.

Best possible way to get is to approach the Indian embassy in your country.

I dont live in India anymore. I am in Canada and the embassy procedure for PCC takes minimum 6 week and God knows when I get it.
Applied through Indian Embassy in 2012 and NEVER got it... Sad!

If you are in Canada, BLS is the way to go. It took me and other people I know here less than 2 weeks to get the PCC , but I am an Indian citizen, so things could be different for you!

Hello guys, recently I visited Bangalore to get the PCC directly from Bangalore. I did not want to apply through embassy as it takes very long time and sometimes you may fail to get it. Below is the procedure:
1. Go to Bangalore Police Commissioner Office. Contact Mrs. Gauri of Foreign Registration office (FRO). She will give you a form to fill up. She will ask for your RC&RP copies, old passport copies with visas of your claimed clearance period, rent aggreement (if available), current passport copy, passport size photos, bonafied certificate, degree certificate copy.
2. Fill up the form, pay 200 rs for each address you stayed at, submit the form, documents and pay slip to Mrs. Gauri.
3. She will prepare the letters to local police stations for verification. She may send the letter to the police stations by herself or she may hand over those to you. In my case, she gave to me and asked me to go to police stations.
4. Contact officer in charge and then assigned police. Try to locate the addresses and talk to the owner before you go to police stations. In my case, it was very difficult for me to locate as its already 14 years i left bangalore.
5. Once you get the verification reports from your local police stations, take those reports back to commissioner office (Mrs. Gauri)
6. She will prepare another report and send it to DIGP office.
7. DIGP office will verify again and prepare a report and it will be sent to home ministry of vidhan soudha (room number 224).
8. Contact Mr. John there. He will prepare the final certificate and issue it to you.

Its a very hectic tasks. Especially at local police station. It takes 15~20 days.

Good info shared.
However it is recommended to obtain your PCC from PSK.

Please could you help with the contacts of these people you mentioned in your post? It's also in Bangalore.Thanks.

Experienced Folks,
I need a quick clarification, Do we need to self attest all photocopies to be sent to BLS? I am planning to submit two separate DD for 44.40 CAD each for me and spouse and enclose each applicant's docs in a small envelope and send both envelopes in a large envelope thru Puralator. Please confirm if this is correct approach.
