INDIAN POLIC or FBI?

Hi Guys,

I got my AOR today so preparing for complete application. But I have one question about FBI Certification. Right now I am staying at USA (NJ). But I choose New Delhi for my application. So do I need FBI certificate, NJ local police certificate or Indian police Certificate?

CIC will also do background checks in all the countries or territories in which you and your family members have lived.

So that means I have to get the police certificate from USA as well as India.

You need police certificate from all countries where you have stayed for more than six months after age of 18 irrespective of where you live now and which is your visa office. So if you have lived in states and India you need

1.) PCC from India
2.) FBI Certificate
3.) US state certificate if asked by IO on case by case basis

Milind,

As of today it is taking 8-10 weeks to get FBI clearence certificate. Apply it as soon as possible. There is a dedicated thread on FBI processing and a bunch of us who have applied in nov are still waiting.

if i were you, i'd apply immediately.

Thanks for the info.

I am going to get my fingerprint done by tomorrow and I will send it to FBI with credit card info and cover letter with reason/date for expeditious handling. I hope I will get it within 2 months.
