Hi,

I wanted to know inorder to obtain a PCC of India from a Consulate General of India in USA , DO we HAVE TO SUBMIT THE ONLY PHOTOCOPIES OF THE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS OR ALL THE PAGES NEED TO BE NOTARIZED ? OR ONLY THE FIRST PAGE OF EACH DOCUMENT NEEDS TO BE NOTARIZED ?

EX: FIRST PAGE OF PASSPORT..1ST PAGE OF UTILITY BILL ???

ANY ONE PLEASE SUGGEST WHAT CAN BE DONE IN THIS SITUATION ?

I am not sure where you are residing in the US?
Most notaries will have a standard text that says they are notarizing the document and have seen the original.
Otherwise they notarize a statement by you swearing that you are producing a copy of the original which is in your custody.
They will put that standard wording on the place where they sign and seal.
Number of pages do not matter.

As for passport you are to send the original passport - so no need to notarize.
They will stamp the certification on a page of th passport also.
Hope this helps.

Hi..I can't send the passport...I need to send that to SFO consulate..

Can you tell me if you submitted the original passport...or how many pages you got notarized ?

Hi Aries,

India consulate at SFO requires the original passport since they have to stamp the "observation" on original passport once PCC is approved.

follow the information given at
http://www.cgisf.org/

You just need to file "Miscellaneous Services Application" and provide the photes, fee and supporting document mentioned at the web.

Truly speaking you have only two option either apply by mail or apply in person, but in both the cases you have to leave your passport with them for approx 10 days.

If your Passports issued by the Consulate in San Francisco then there might be chance that they might not need you original passport.
Check with consulate for more information.

Tips: Don't wast your time in calling them, they promptly respond to e-mails and prefer it.

Hope it helps.
