I'm a resident of dubai for the past 8 years. I have applied for Indian PCC from Indian embassy dubai which will take min 40 working days(Case specific as I have changed my passport recently and came back to Dubai before police verification as I was pregnant and should travel back soon). In mean time I have applied for PCC from my district police station where I hardly have stayed more than 6 months. I did my masters in Chennai for 2 years. should I get PCC from Chennai also? Will CIC accept my PCC from my hometown district police station and Chennai district police station or PCC from PSK is a must?

Seniors and ppl who have furnished district PCC please advice.

1st things first.

PCCs are country wise and not meant for a particular city.

Suggest for Indian PCC please apply at Indian embassy in Dubai. You won't need indian PCC from PSK, though no harm in applying if you must, but surely not from district Police station in india as CIC most likely will reject it (but it's not needed, if you havent stayed in india for more than 6 months continuously or in breaks accumulating to 6 months).

But if you have stayed in Dubai for more than 6 months you will need a PCC from UAE Authorities for sure.

Correct on First Point

Wrong on Second Point.
District Police Station PCC is clearly accepted by CIC
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/india.asp

Except Delhi and Punjab :
"For residents of other states: You can apply at your local District Police Station. "

I know that but it's not worth the risk as many past cases have been rejected due to one or the other things being out of CIC requirement.
Note: Pls check 'Reasons for Rejections' thread on this forum.

Also it's much easier to get a PCC with PSK online registration and application/payments etc...than going through local police where one may get into unnecessary delays and bribes to get the PCC, that too unreliable (on CIC requirements)

So take your pick...
