Got notification from Purolator that they picked up my surrender certificate.
My timeline is
18-Apr-2023: Submitted application in person at Vancouver BLS office
19-Apr-2023: Changed to in process at consulate
24-Apr-2023: Changed to 'on the way to BLS'
26-Apr-2023: Picked up by Purolator
27-Apr-2023: Expected delivery date
All in all, submission to delivery should be 9 days. Pretty efficient.

Went to BLS Vancouver today as walk-in for surrender application.
Reached there at 8:30am, got a token and was done by 9:40am. There was no fuss about photos or anything, opted for courier since it's convenient for me.
They said, it'll be delivered in 3 weeks.

20-Apr-2023: Received mail from BSL, Brampton , saying document's received.
19-Apr-2023: Changed to in process at consulate
25-Apr-2023: Changed to 'on the way to BLS'
28-Apr-2023: Certificate printed.
01-May-2023: BSL still shows processing at CGI.

It takes upto a week to get the status changed on BLS...

I went to submit my application at the Toronto BLS center today (couldn't make it to Brampton). I was a walk-in, reached a few minutes before 8 am. There were about 20 people before me. Got in around 8:30 and was out by around 9:15. Everything went very smoothly. The BLS agent didn't even ask to see my originals that I was carrying

Does that means I need to go to BLS office to collect certificate? I already paid for return currier charges for Purolator.

The status will change shortly most likely by evening and Purolator tracking# will be provided.
You can try and check on the Purolator website by putting the surrender application# to see if it reflects the tracking details.
Applied for Surrender Certificate on 21st April @ Brampton and received Surrender certificate today on 3rd May @ Mississauga.

-- Can I apply for Surrender Certificate at the BLS Toronto (Lawrence center)?
-- We are family of 3, parents + 1 kid. Do all 3 of us need to go together? I am assuming, it is better to take them along if they have any stupid demands of photos not accepted or need signature or thumb print etc.
-- If I submit the applications in person, can I collect them in person as well once all 3 are ready for pickup? Will it be always the same center where you submitted or it can change ?
Currently appointment available only for May 23 but I am thinking of going as a walk-in. Friend went today and they said they accept walk=ins based on rush only till 1 PM.
