Indian passport surrender

I went to submit the application for surrender certificate at BLS Ottawa via walk-in. Reached at 8am and had to wait for an hour for my turn. I had read about all the mistakes they try to find in the application on this forum so I had taken extra care to make sure every comma, ever gap, every letter was matching my passport/DL/etc.
Everything went smoothly, although I could see the look of disappointment on the BLS lady's face. She handed me an acknowledgement form to sign and told me to sign in two places. One of these boxes was for courier service. I told her I don't want the courier service and want to come and pick up myself. She then asked me to sign only in one place at the bottom and told me I can come pickup anytime between 3-4.30pm (Mon-Sat) once the online tracker shows it's ready. Just make sure you don't sign anything without reading and tell them you don't want the courier service. Just ignore all the horror stories they tell you to try and convince you to opt for the courier service.
Where do I look for SC status and how long does it take for it to see the status?, My mail application was delivered on 20th Feb. When I look at the application tracker on BLS website by selecting Passport, it shows my old passport renewal status.
Hello friends, I need a help with OCI address part B where we need to enter the present address of relatives in India. I am unable to enter my Complete Indian passport full address in the present address field. The space is filled without city name and pin code. What should i do here? Just add member with the address i can fill? Appreciate your help!
My husband applied for the SC in May last year & still hasn’t received it. After several attempts to try to connect through Sampark portal, BLS, forums, fb groups & god knows what not I finallty got an email reply from the consulate today saying that the file is stopped at RPO Mumbai & the consulate is still waiting on a reply from them. Its crazy how the status kept showing its processing at consulate & its been 9 months. We need to travel to India next month & my husband has a canadian passport. Can he apply for evisa & travel on his canadian passport while the SC is still in process? If yes, there is a question that says any other passport held—the answer would be a NO if I'm right?

Yes, he can travel on his Canadian passport with a valid e-Visa.
The answer would be 'No' as he's only holding a Canadian passport and has surrendered the Indian one.
Carry print outs of your email from the consulate and the copies of receipts/emails from BLS when they accepted his passport for surrender. You should not have any problems because you are not entering India on an invalid Indian passport.

Guys I am reading on this forum for tracking status of Indian passport surrender certificate.
There are two ways to track.
1.at BLS website &
which requires ARN number , DoB
2. at Passport Seva Website
I could check at BLS website
but I can’t find tracking status at Passport seva Website as it is asking for file number & DoB as I am not sure where to find file number or may be I am using wrong link.
Can somebody please guide me or post the link to check at Passport seva website and what inputs I need ? I just have ARN number so far

Login in into the account from where you submitted the surrender application on passport seva site and once you are in from there use the track your application option.
Call the BLS Customer care and ask for the Pick up and drop off service. They will ask for your Name/Address/Passport number/ Number of Applicants...
Then, they will send you an email with the online payment link... Before the payment, be sure to check for any spelling mistakes and when you are done with the payment. They will book the Purolator pick-up.
Does anybody know that we need to submit both the Indian passports, expired and non-expired? Or will just the non-expired be sufficient for the surrender?
