I review the application and document check list, i am surprise to see that they are asking for original PR card.
I am thinking to go personally with all original documents and copy of it.

They are take your original PR card when ur passport renew they give u back.

They put ur Canadian address in passport which address proof u submit.

You can renew ur passport within one yr. Of expire date.

For renewal its take 6 to 8 working weeks.

Hi to all experts in this topic,
I am on work permit and working in Toronto. My wife is on visitor visa as my dependent. Her passport is expiring in dec-2014. So We are going to apply for her passport renewal. For address proof i read on bls site that we need to submit bankstatement/driving licence/ or utility bill. We dont have any of this on her name so what other documents can be valid for to renew passport ? Following few options i think of but please tell me if any of these is valid or not ?
1) my employer letter stating her name as my wife and my current canada address
2) my passport with marriage certificate, my bank statement, utility bill on my name .. Combination of this can prove my wife's address ?

Please reply me asap as i am planning to apply on this weekend. Thank you all in advance.

I want to know recent experience of people who renewed Indian passport from Toronto....

how much time its taking nowadays...

.I got PCC on my old passport from BLS Brampton in 10 days... in Jan 2014....so do u think i can get passport in less than 4 weeks ..

Guys,

I have just applied my son renewal passport application from BLS office in the Toronto.

They took the original passport and visitor permit documents. Apartment from that they took xerox of mine and spouse and driving license of Ontario. Within 10 min, process was completed.

But I do know that whether I will get my son passport number in diff one and whether it is mentioned indian or canadian address. How to update that passport details to CIC ???

any idea? pl. let me know

As far as I know ,once you get passport then send the scanned copy of Passport of your kid's passport to CPC.
Also in passport renewal form ,there is Address to be printed ...that address will be printed on your kid's passport.

I applied from Brampton so it will be GTA.
I applied on 25 July 2014, so it has been one month now.

Just for you guys information, Indian Government has shortage of passport papers (how?), so be ready for 2/3 months to get your passport.
Dont ask how I know this because I dont have any source. Just friends who are in same situation and waiting for passport since 3 months now.

Thats really dangerous .....I have got PPR ...and i have to send renewed passport as my current passport was returned because of being damaged...

Do you guys think ,if i send CPC letter to CGI toronto ...then they can process it faster......what do guys think

You can try, it wont hurt your process. :-\

There is no tatkal for renewal...in CGI toronto...

I will drop them mail after 3 weeks or so .... to request them ...thats all i can do ... ithink... or withdraw application ...
and get it done from India ...which will be faster ...as there u have Tatkal too....

There could be some issue in your background verification.

I will update you once my kid passport will get it.

Another user on same forum ...applied in July he got his passport in 3 weeks ....

So not sure ..but i have heard some horror stories in passport renewal too .... so hope for the best.

My Application Status is "Processing at Consulate General" so far. It is fifth week. I don't mind to wait for couple of more weeks.

Nothing like that my friend who got the renewal passport in 5 weeks. Then after, I have applied for my kid.

My passport is on mail now. I am expecting to get it in couple of days at most.
I applied on 25 July and it took almost 6 weeks.
