I could not able to track with the above link and it is showing up that it is "The status of the entered File Number is not available in the system"
Passport renewal
Walk-in submission-BLS Edmonton- August 17th
Police verification initiation email received on August 26th
Submission of documents at local police station in India- September 7th
Can't find application in https://portal1.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/statusTracker/trackStatusInpNew
Could see it until September 6th
BLS website still says processing at CG.

Same here. In the Passport India portal (https://portal2.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/statusTracker/trackStatusInpNew) The above error message appears.

Confirmation of package receipt email from BLS: August 19, 2020

Police verification initiation email: September 4, 2020
Police inquiry at home in India: September 8, 2020
Current status on BLS website: Processing at Consulate General
Current status on Passport Seva at Indian Embassy (https://portal4.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html): Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate.

I have a couple of questions regarding the passport renewal process with BLS Toronto.
Following is a timeline of my passport renewal application (60 page booklet - regular application):
27/08 - Submitted in-person at BLS Toronto (Lawrence East)
27/08 - BLS status - Under Process
27/08 - BLS status - In transit from BLS Centre to Consulate General
28/08 - BLS status - Processing at Consulate General
31/08 - passport.gov - Application received; under processing at embassy/consulate
10/09 - passport.gov - Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate.
10/09 - passport.gov - CATxxxxxxxxxxx number shown in application
14/09 - Email for initiation of police verification
16/09 - Documents submitted to Police Verification in India (by family)
20/09 - passport.gov - Passport application has been granted
20/09 - BLS status - Processing at Consulate General
Does this mean the police verification is officially done and I should be receiving the passport soon? It will be 4 weeks this Thursday since I submitted my application.
Can anyone share their experience of how long it takes to receive the passport once it is approved?
As they are currently sending the new passport back by courier, do you need to be present at home to sign for the courier delivery?

Which city was the police verification done in? What documents do family need to show, and is there any follow up visit needed to the police station as the SMS says? Thanks. Hope you get your passport soon!
PV done in Pune. Same police station that did it when I was issued the original passport.
Documents requested - PAN Card, Aadhar Card (I didn't have this), Current Passport photocopy of first and last page, entry stamp photocopy of first entry to US from India, first entry into Canada (mine was from US on a visitor visa), first entry from India to Canada (as a PR), birth certificate + board certificate or school leaving certificate, local address electric bill photocopy, passport photocopy of relative who went to give documents.
Haven't received any SMS or communication from the police station yet.
So did the police go to your house first, ask for those documents, and then someone went to the police station? If not, how did you know to keep all those documents ready? Thanks again.
The guy from the police station called up my family member when he got the email request. This is the same person who did my police verification last year when I request a PCC for my PR application. He recognized the name and decided to call my family member up saying he needs all the above documents (even though we had already given him all these documents with the obvious bribe last year).
