Indian Passport Renewal from BLS Toronto

So I tried calling them and their agents are helpful but you often get conflicting information from different people if you call multiple times.
What I gathered was that I basically have to resubmit the entire application. For that I obviously have to wait for the returned documents which they will send via Puralator (could take upto a week it seems).
The person I spoke to said I can obtain permission from the Consulate in Toronto to have the Indian address printed on the passport. I dont know how to go about it yet - I can try emailing but I do now know if they actually entertain such requests.

Any insights would be helpful! And please let me know if you find out anything at your end....

They mentioned that putting Canada address on passport has now become mandatory since the past 2 months. Earlier it was optional, since my friend had put her Indian address about 6 months back.
I think I'll just put the Canadian address on the passport now. Although it isn't ideal for me, looks like less hassle.

Wow, that was quick. They told me it would take a week to get my documents back and that I have to contact Puralator to get a tracking number.
I am also wondering whether to take the easy route.... no idea whether the consulate will respond or how long that will take!

Anyone know if we can go and submit the application through walkin without appointment? My postal application was rejected due to size of the photo I attached, even though they were the right dimensions. I want to submit it in-person to avoid this confusion but there are no appointments available till December.

Hello Guys, have a question ... I am filling the passport renewal online on passportindia.gov ... as per the form, the address printed on the passport would be Canadian address, my question here is ...
Do I need to select the checkbox option "Change In Existing Personal Particulars" and select the "Address" checkbox ... or is it not required?
or
Selecting the option "Validity Expired Within 3 Years/Due To Expire" should suffice?
Please advise.

A quick question: It looks like there are no Province and Country names in case of Canadian address on the Passport. The address is ending with the city name. Could you please confirm? Or any person who has Canadian address on the passport, please conform.

Guys, I am renewing my 2 kids passport this month with BLS center. I have a question.

can one Purolator label sufficient for pickup of 2 applications? Can you please provide your views on this.

Same thing has happened to me for PCC application. I sent my application to BLS Toronto but they returned it saying since I lie in Ottawa Jurisdiction, I am supposed to send it to BLS Ottawa. To be honest, BLS is so confusing and has misleading information on their website and checklist which is pain in the neck lol.

Hi @Nicholas0095, there is no option to choose the jurisdiction while filling in the application on Passport Seva website, right?

The BLS website says that my passport renewal application has been returned (because I had mentioned Indian address as passport printable address). I had sent a postal application.
Can someone please advise me what to do next? Does this mean that I have to pay the $70 Puralator fee again or can I go in person and submit the corrected form?
Will they return the draft for payment or will I have to pay the processing fee again?

yes you'll have to pay the pickup/drop fee again. i did 3 times

I'm a Canada PR - passport expired in mid Sept 2021

Here's my status

Normal passport renewal: No changes requested

27th August : Purolator picked up application
30th August : Reached BLS Brampton
3rd September : BLS Returned the application with letter (Bank draft missing) - had it but just forgot to put in the envelope on Aug 30
7th September : Purolator picked up application (with Bank Draft included)
8th September : Reached BLS Brampton
13th September : received email from brampton.p@blsinternational.net in afternoon on issues with Photo (dimensions ok but wearing light coloured shirt)
13th September : received email from info@blsindia-canada.com in evening

20th September : responded to email info@blsindia-canada.com with photo as attachment to email since I was out of town till then.
No status - passport india portal just says Application submitted (means probably held at BLS), assumed renewal was processing
12th November : received my old passport and application back in Purolator package with a letter attached saying submit proper photos
14th November : took new photos and prepared resend of the application
15th November : Purolator picked up application
16th November : Reached BLS Brampton
24th November : Status changed to Processing at Consulate general - BLS website

Current status on Passport India Portal3 site :

Passport application along with fee details have been received. The same is under processing at the Embassy/Consulate

Keep trying the number. I noticed some days when I called it would say number does not exist lol but the next day it would work and I would get through. Ontario.

Try the Toronto number, it works well, You wil be on hold for 30 mins waiting to be connected to a helpdesk agent but they are helpful.

I have 2 applications for passport renewal for my kids. Do I need to use 2 different envelops by paying $70 each to Purolator or I can send both the applications in the same envelop?

I have to get my son's Indian passport renewed in Canada (Toronto). What Indian address should I fill on the form if no one currently lives there to avoid any verification issues. On passport I will fill Canadian address only. Can anyone who has been through this situation help.
