Hello Everyone !

After Greetings

I am in the USA on a visit visa valid for another 4 months and trying to find a university in Canada with low tutions - preferably post graduate program - 3 year PGWP after graduation. Please suggest anyone

Moreover I am keen to understand if I can apply for a Study Permit from New York Office instead of going back to my home country (India) to save on travelling cost ?

Please recommend.

Regards

There is no use of getting a 3 year PGWP if you're graduating from a low cost college. They end up being Technicians and have a hard time getting a NOC ABO job here. They mostly go to their home country after completion. Try to get into a good college or university where it'll be worth getting a degree.

so what course are you thinking of taking or are you you planning to look for some random course for the objective of getting a PGWP which will reduce chances of getting a study permit in first place if no logical link between your current qualifications and chosen course. Maybe need to share more info to get positive feedback.

FYI - It's too late to apply for the January. So the earliest you'll be able to apply is for the May or September intake for classes.

I would return home and apply there. Higher chances of refusal if you apply from the US since you'll need to demonstrate you have strong ties to your home country and have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. Hard to do that if you are on an extended vacation to another country. Makes it look like you don't want to go home.

Thanks a lot for your prompt opinion Scylla

Alternate Scenario : say for instance I am on a F1 Visa here in USA (Student Visa) for a few months, post which can then apply being in united states.

well, to be honest I am just avoiding my cost to travel back home (India) as i ma here with my family and expense will be more than from applying here, not to mention if still its needed to go back i would do the same to avoid any refusals.

or is there any alternate way to this.

Regards

Are you saying that you are actually in the US on an F1 visa - or will you just say that you are when you're actually just in the US as a visitor? I'm not quite clear what you're saying...

Hi, I am sonia
I have the same question. I had applied for study permit for jan intake. but unfortunately It got rejected. So now I have applied for caips note. since my husband is now on deputation in UK I am planning to go der. So after I get the exact reason for refusal, I am planning to apply from there. So will it make any problem if i apply from UK? I willbe going for a short period say for 6 months, like my visa will be valid till october 2017. Please share your opinion. Thanks
