India to Canada with COPR - stopover in Dubai

Hi.. a quick question. I will be travelling to Canada in November from Chennai. We are planning to take the Emirates. Wondering if we can stopover in Dubai for a few days before proceeding our trip to Canada.
Anyone here who can tell me if we can do that when we are traveling to Canada with COPR? Are there are rules or regulations or can we get get our stopover booked when we book our flight and get visa on arrival in dubai?
