India PCC delayed

Hello

Both I and my wife applied for police clearance certificate (PCC) at the Indian consulate in Toronto. My wife got her PCC in 2 weeks.

For me it's already been 6 weeks but there is no sign of the PCC. I went and inquired at the Embassy and was told that my case has been referred to Bangalore from where my passport was issued. Basically, the Embassy has written a letter to Bangalore police commissioner office asking for confirmation that there is no adverse report against me.
My inquires at the commissioner office reveal that the letter has not even reached Bangalore. Despite my best efforts, I am unable to trace where the letter is. It seems that the letter takes a very long route embassy -> delhi -> bangalore home office -> DGP office -> Commissioner office.

Please advice on what can be done. Is there anyone else with similar struggle to get Indian PCC? What options are available? I am really desperate to get the PCC. My application is complete and only this document is missing.

Same thing happened to us.
that letter will take 3-4 months to reach. So what we did

1) Asked the Indian consulate in Toronto to give same letter and we mailed it to Commissioner office by Canada post FedEx service
2) It reached in just two days mail price was around $ 90, which we paid personally
3) Contacted Commissioner office after 3 days, they said we have received letter and forwarded to local police station, where we lived.
4) Contacted local police station for the report, given some money ;D and they sent report back to Commissioner office in 3 days.
5) Commissioner office given the letter to my friend and he mailed it to Indian consulate in Toronto by FedEx, reached in two days to Toronto,
6) Indian consulate given PCC after that in two day.. ROFL ;D
In Total personal extra money paid around $150 for these shipments

I feel, better you cancel your PCC and your passport back. Then re-apply.

your parents or relatives can apply on your behalf in india and it takes only 7 days.

they need your 4 passport size pics your address in canada, and proof of your residence in india.

ration card will do it for you.

Was your case also referred to Bangalore? What address did you mail the letter to? Police commissioner office is big and and unless the letter is addressed correctly, chances of it getting lost are high. Please let me know. I will also try the route suggested by you.

Also, I have got a copy of the letter from consulate. Is that enough to be sent to commissioner office? Or do I need to original along with the police clearance form with photo attached?

i applied mine in Brampton my passport also issue in toronto so its take only 3 weeks if your passport issue from india than its take longer time around 8 weeks.
you need copy of your passport and work permit and 4 photo also they need original passport and work permit which they take and return with pcc.

Looks like there will be a delay if we apply from Chicago. Can we apply for PCC from India. I can ask my parents to apply for my wife PCC from Chennai? Is it valid? I am not sure how this PCC works.

Please help..

If you get from India that's OKmake sure you ssubmit original only

I got PCC from Toronto. They issued a clearance letter (which I submitted to CIC), in addition to that they placed a seal on the passport stating PCC was issued.

There are few cases where ppl applied for pcc from toronto and it tooks more than 2 months. Better optn is apply for pcc from back homr dirctly. All they want is address proof , full scanned passport and applicant's authority letter, in simple a4 sized paper. They will issue within 1 week. Make inquiry in your local police station. May be you need to pay them somwhat.. lol... but u will get result in week..
