Yes, my cancelled passport was issued from India.
My latest passport was issued at Toronto.
I had to submit both my new and cancelled passport along with my original Work Permit.
As far as I see it, if your passport was issued at Toronto, you should get your PCC within 2 weeks if you apply it from BLS Toronto.

Hi av300812,

Just another question. did you opt for courier delivery of ur passports and PCC or u opted for pick-up of the documents at BLS office, Toronto?

I am just curious about which option is better??

I opted for Pick up at BLS.
if it is courier it may take 2-3 days extra.

online we can always check for the status of the application and pickup when it is ready.

Thnks jaihanuman for ur input..

I had it couriered to me and its safe as same as picking it up from the bls centre. They ship through Purolator which is quiet reliable.
Well you always have the option of picking it up, but make sure you let them know when they start filling up your application. Sometime they wont ask you the mode of delivery and instead they simply chose the courier mode and ask you to pay for it.

Thanks av300812..that was helpful..do they provide a tracking number for ur courier?? and how much time it took to receive at ur end??

If you are lucky and if the BLS guys are active, you should see your tracking number on their site once they courier it.
I got my PCC within two weeks of submission. you should have no issues.

Could anyone please tell me out of experience/knowledge, how much time does it usually take to get PCC for passports issued outside India and Canada. My passport was issued at Toronto and I got my PCC in less than 2 weeks, however my wife's passport was issued at a middle east country and its more than a month that we have been waiting for her PCC.

Thanks a lot
Since there is no SLA, it is hard to say how long it takes to get PCC for passports issued outside India and Canada. I got mine in about 4 months time, some people have received it after 8 months. I suggest you to contact the consulate after 6 weeks and check the status. If they are waiting for report from Indian police, have someone in India to contact the local police and expedite the process.

@htrak: Thanks! Its been 4 weeks now and I guess BLS wouldn't entertain any queries within less than 6 weeks.
My wife has stayed in two cities in India, so which police station should I contact?

@jaihanuman: CIC has not yet requested my PCC (I am a June 2013 applicant), I am preparing this document in advance. All my updates are sent by my lawyer so I really don't know the address.

Hi,

Dont wait for BLS guys, they are like postman, they will not do anything for you, they will just tell you the status which is available on the site. Better to contact CGI, toronto directly.

No one picks phone at CGI, so it is better to visit CGI personally (check the timings before you go).

If your passport was issued in Normal Mode, then no need to worry you will get it sooner or later, and if it was Tatkal start getting worried and try to explore other options to expedite the process.

my passport was applied under normal process.
Hope I will get it very soon.

Hello,

My PCC request is still under process, since last 3 months, by CGI Vancouver. I, however, have obtained a PCC from India. Is it fine to submit the PCC form India as I am not sure how long its going to take a PCC from CGI? Anyone has applied with PCC issued from India ?
