Hi,
I've applied to WES to for the ECA evaluation on 4th July.
My Masters degree documents courier were received at WES on 21/7/14 and my Bachelors degree documents courier were received at WES on 28/7/14. (I have the signature POD from the Courier.)

I thought that WES normally waits till they receive all the documents before they start evaluation.
But, on 26/7/14 my report status changed to "Evaluation in Progress"
And today it changed to "Evaluation complete"

BUT the report only shows the evaluation for my Masters degree... not my Bachelors degree. I have written to WES, once on the 26th and twice today. What else can I do?

((I need the Bachelors degree evaluation because that is the degree related to my work experience. ))

PLEASE HELP!! :( :( :( :'( :'(

I am new here and just applied for WES Evaluation. Did you mentioned Education Credential for 2?

I don't understand that text in RED color, is it must? I am B.com but certified in IT with couple of courses and certifications, working since over 12+ years...

I am not sure what happened here - but for FSW your Masters Degree Evaluation is enough. It is going to fetch you more points (23).

Any way - what is the resultant ECA report ? What does it say ?

i think you need to pay two for the evaluation. One for bachelor and other is for masteral... Send them email for your inquiry....

The Master's degree, if equivalent to one in Canada, will give you the 23 points on its own.

Your work experience should be proven by reference letters. What makes you believe your Bachelor's degree is essential to that?

It's because :-
1. my Master's degree was completed after my work experience, not before. My Bachelors degree was completed before. ((I assumed that degree points are only calculated if completed before working. Am I right or wrong?))
2. I have work experience of about 2&1/2 years each in the financial service sector and the IT sector. And since I can only apply under one sector, I get only 11 points for my work exp.
So I'm trying to make up with getting more points on my Bachelors degree.

Else I might not have enough points to apply.

Buddy - why do you say that you need more points by getting your Bachelors assessed while its simply not the case ?

If ECA evaluates your creds to Canadian Bachelors - you get 21 points.

If ECA evaluates your creds to Canadian Masters - you get 23 points.

So my question to you again is what does your ECA report say ?

Hello

WES reported my Master degree as "One year of graduation study" in Canadian Equivalence . Please let me know what will be educational point for FSWP2014. Can I get 23 ?

Thanks

If it does'nt say Masters then its not Masters

This may be 2 or more post secondary degree/diploma in which case this will =22 points.

Thanks Nishesh.

It is very strange as my three year bachelor degree is mentioned as "Bachelor degree(four years)" and my two year master degree as "one year of graduate study"

It is total 5 years study after post-secondary , Still you feel I will get only 22points .

Thanks

It's equivalent to a Canadian Masters degree.
BUT my Masters degree was completed recently in 2012. My work experience is from 2008-2011. So the Masters degree is not counted, right?

Its not what I feel. It what WES is saying. And that's the bottom-line :)

It's us who need 'their' evaluation and not the other way round.

good luck and i hope the points will suffice.

Where did you find such information that suggests that your Masters Degree has to be completed before your started to work ?

This is incorrect (unless you can point me to facts stating otherwise).

1. It makes no difference when you got the degree.
2. You can get points for work experience you provide appropriate evidence for not just in the NOC you apply under (see below).
In order to receive points for all of the jobs you have had over the past ten years, your work experience must be in one or more occupations listed in Skill Type 0, Skill Level A or B of NOC 2011.

I'm sorry. I'm applying without an agent so I got some of the facts wrong. I had previously tried applying to Australia through an agent and he said that since my work experience was before my masters degree it was not valid. :-\ And since I couldn't find anything on the CIC website specifying whether or not the work experience needs to be before or after, I assumed ??? ::) it would be before like for ohter countries.

So, I'll try with just the Masters now. Thank you!!!

Thanks. That makes a big difference to my points! I wasn't sure I would have enough points earlier.
