Income taxes for a married couple

Should a married couple file income taxes together or separately?
What are the pros and cons? Thanks

Canada does not have joint tax returns. You must declare one another on your returns (because you are married) but you each file your own tax returns. The only thing that it seems to affect is any potential HST rebate amount.
