Hi,

How much income should I show to sponsor my spouse?

Do I also need to show bank accounts? if so how much should I have in my account?

There is no minimum income you need to be eligible to sponsor. You just have to show how you will support yourself, and if you have been on welfare or been declared bankrupt before.

The Option C printout shows if you have been on welfare. That is why it is a required document.

Showing bank accounts will not hurt, also include your work contract/proof of how much you make per month/year.

Thanks a lot. Usually how much do people show. $24000 for an year is it enough?

As I say no amount is required. Some full time students who do not work have successfully sponsored in the past.

You just have to show how you will support yourselves. For my application we included my offer letter from my employer-in-waiting (I worked for them under IEC program), and my wife's contract. Show proof that you have employment, or if you are a student currently show proof of the jobs you would be suitable to apply for. Do this for both of you (Sponsor and Applicant)
