In person visitor visa at buffalo

Initially I was planning to go to new York consulate thinking that I can get the passport next day. However at the bottom of their website, they mentioned that it takes 30 days to get passport back even for in person application. When I called them, they said that is the new rule.

Does anyone have any recent experience with Buffalo consulate? As per Buffalo website, you can get passport back on same day. I am not sure if they still do it.

I am also in need of a reply for this.

I know that 6 months back, people used to get same day visa at Buffalo. But, recently, all the consulate websites say they are upgrading new computer systems.

So, right now, is it possible for us to get visit visa the same day at Buffalo if we go early in the morning with all correct documents?

Please help.

Looks like all visa offices in the US takes 30 days to process TRV-visitor.
