There have been a few reports of in-person oaths and interviews in this forum especially in IRCC Scarborough. Majority of the oaths and interviews are still virtual. I guess, as the pandemic eases, they may make more in-person services available. However, I don't believe they have made an official announcement to that effect

This is great if they are resuming this. I wish mine was in person it would of been better I personally think and then you get your certificate that day verses having to wait 4 weeks like I did for it to come in the mail. Good Luck!

I had mine 2 weeks ago with montreal office, it was online.
The problem here is this waiting time until the certificate arrives, it's very annoying as we don't have a clear vision of when we can apply to get the passports.
I wish if they offered us the option to choose between the in person and the virtual ceremony and/or make the e-certificate available for everybody to download immediately after the ceremony instead of waiting several weeks for the hard copy to arrive.

How much is the passport fee?
And, is there additional fee for fast processing?
Can you share the link please. TY

Haha, federal government employees still riding the pandemic bonanza for all its worth. Are they planning to go back to pre-pandemic normal operations ever ? Covid is not going away, but it doesn't pose higher risk than other diseases at this point, so not sure what they are waiting for. Probably just stalling to get another year of work from home.

I am in GTA. My oath is scheduled for next Tuesday in-person in Mississauga Location
Congratulations. Please let us know after the ceremony if you received your certificate on the same day.

Guess the jokes is on the six million plus people that died from covid if it doesn’t pose a higher risk than other diseases

Here’s a link from John Hopkins . It helps if you sound out the big words really slow. If that’s to hard , take it too a library and maybe someone can help you there

Did you get any update on the tracker ? I have a feeling that our applications have gone under the pile. Around 5.5 months for me without any update.

Did anyone have an inperson oath ceremony at Scarborough or any other GTA office? If yes, let me know if you receive the citizenship certificate the same day as the ceremony in person?

A number of people in Montreal from another group I'm in have reported having in-person oaths in Montreal.

Many people in this forum have reported in-person oaths in Scarborough, and a few in Mississauga.

In all cases, the certificate is given the same day, right after the ceremony.

I think that’s how it always used to be. Same thing in the US - you got the naturalization certificate at the end of the ceremony.
This is how it’s supposed to be and what makes sense - you get the legal document proving you are a citizen at the moment you legally become a citizen.
Having a virtual video ceremony should not change this fundamental concept, therefore they should provide the certificate as soon as is possibly feasible.
