The CIC's guide for extending a visitor visa says:
Your original temporary status as a visitor continues under the same conditions until your application is finalized and you have been notified of the decision.
So that means that one is legally allowed to stay in Canada until they are notified of the decision made on their application for visa extension, riiiight?
