the first few weeks after mailing the application is the worst! it's just part of the process - we are all going through it. Some have longer wait times and harder stories than others.

just keep reminding yourself you did the best you could with the information they had at the time. going through it and "looking" for mistakes is NOT going to help. CIC will let you know if anything is needed. If you notice things that *may* be requested later, just keep on top of things and have them ready. your interpretation of what may be "wrong" can be significantly different than what CIC considers "wrong".

FWIW, when you receive your AOR, that means that your application package was opened and was at least given a cursory glance to make sure all required forms and signatures are in place. Most people that have their entire applications returned never received AOR, at least those that have been part of discussions here.

rhcohen can i ask how abt in ur application did they need to ask for another document from you or was it all smooth sailing?

i forgot to include a form i mistakenly though i didn't need to fill out. (the additional family informaiton). It took about 3 weeks for them to send my husband the letter (by email) that our application was incomplete. I proceeded to have a meltdown and I immediately sent it in. it took about 2-3 weeks for them to send the acknolwedgement of receipt (AOR) to my husband - we got this today! i don't know if they used the email copy or the hard copy i mailed them to complete the application. I sent both to cover all bases. My husband called CIC twice to get an update, and they didn't have anything to tell us. So you see, i've been waiting since March 17th to get SA, and we still don't have it. The fact we have AOR means it could be coming VERY soon. Have my fingers and toes crossed it goes through successfully.

ponga how is that some of the posts i read mostly they dont recieve AOR until 3 months my husband WP is expiring this june and im scared if they resend the incomplete package to us say after a month my husband will be out of status. Please help. We rushed however in that application because i am after his WP expiring that is why i didnt have the chance to wait for original option c.

. Thats is so nice to here. i hope we they inform us asap if they will resend the package if it contains documents that are not appropriate. I really pray. Because rhcohen my husband WP will expire soon june 2014 and im scared if they resend us that package he will be out of status that time. We include extend of WP in our spousal sponsorship.

if your husband's wp expires in June, then why not apply to change his status and extend his stay as a visitor? You need to do that ASAP because it needs to be done about 30 days prior to expiration. Also, where are you reading that AORs are taking 3 months? I think you are misinterpreting what you are reading. Perhaps you are reading that Visa Office AORs (commonly known as AOR2) are taking longer - which is how it works. First Mississauga sends AOR, the Sponsorship Approval (SA), THEN it gets transferred to the visa office (VO), who may or may not send an AOR2. Inland applicants take longer because that's just part of the process. Those of us who have waited way over normal processing times are few and far between. March applicants waited a bit longer than the stated processing time because of things outside CIC control (system bug, long holiday weekend, etc).

One of the best ways to see true statistics is to go to a monthly application thread and check out the tracking spreadsheet. Each month has a spreadsheet that tracks progress.

then i would wait for more senior members to confirm whether your husband has implied status until he hears about his extension. That means, if he does have implied status, that he can stay there until a decision is made. If they deny it, he will have to leave. i am not positive sending in the application is considered implied status...

. Rhcohen if ever i dont hear from them by may28 that is one month before expiration of my husbands WP do u think it would be best to resend a separate application for extend of stay as a worker to missisuaga and note there with spousal sponsorship application .

rhcohen where will i send the application to change status from worker to visitor? Is it vegreville? Is that ok since we have submitted extend stay as a worker in our spousal sponsorship in mississauga? Please help.

sorry, i can't be of much help as to how to apply to change status. my guess is to start on CIC website, or start a new thread on one of these boards. there are senior members that may be able to direct you better. i just know it's possible to do, because many people write about it. also try searching the boards for similar topics... they may already have links as to where to go. i'm pretty sure this can be done online.
