Not at all. Expired Visa doesnt mean you are illegal. Visa is just to travel In & Out a country. If you wont do anything to extend your Work Permit than after Aug 2013 you will be illegal here.

I am from Peru and my work permit expires August 12/2013. My Visa expired November 7/2012. I need to apply to renew my visa and the work permit right? I plan on doing that first thing Monday. Do you think I will get a response before Aug 12? What other information should I provide here?

I came in 2005 with my parents because of my dads position as a diplomat. He was the general console of Peru in Canada. I came with a study permit and graduated in 2010 when I acquired a work permit. I know that I have to get a letter of employment, is that where my employer says he will extend the permit? What exactly should be included in the letter of employment?
