hi. i haven't started filing my case yet. i'm still gathering all my documents. i want to know what happens when the cap of my occupation is reached by the time i submit to the CIO?

Hi Isaacmathews: Here is a link to the stats that Leon found in July 2010 on a thread titled, "20000 cap!" http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/statistics/facts2009/permanent/01.asp
Cheers.

Dear spacegurl....Welcome to this thread....
There are lot many RNs in this thread. Simple answer to your query is that they (CIO) will return the application (along with the fees) ......in case that particular NOC has reached the cap of 1000...... They will even do the same if the total cap of 20000 (all NOCs) has reached..... irrespective of any particular NOC reaching 1000 or not!!!!!

Hypothesis

Hypothesis - (Guys don't take it too seriously )

By last 3 year skilled workers average(As per historical data ) : 41782
expected application flow (As per historical data ) from July to DEC : 20891
expected application flow/month(As per historical data ) = 3481

Considering new requirement and its confusion and
limited NOC and added coplexity and additional documentation/requirements ; expected monthly flow up to DEC : (3481 x 50%) = 1740

Add Rush factor = 1740 x 20% = 2088

Less Error factor 5% = 1984

As of today (from June 27) they should be received : 5952 "Successful" Fed. skilled workers Applications .

I did not factor AEO and initial lag in application flow !!!

Dear Srico

Welcome to this thread /forum.....
You made me confused :o :o :o ....You have to mention other details too.... when did you submit your application... Have you applied under FSW1 ...... what does email exactly says...I am sure you wouldn't have got the mail as you have mentioned in the post!!! Please throw some more light...... Thank you
Cheers, Anil

Isaacmathews: So THAT'S what you wanted to do with the stats!! You number crunchers are amazing! For my 2 cents though, I think you are underestimating the "rush factor" by thinking only up to December. In previous years when there was no cap on the numbers there would have been no push to get applications in at the start of the year. Dividing the expected numbers by 50% is no longer applicable as everyone who wishes to apply will do so in the first few months of the year, not just 20% more. What do the rest of you think?

Thank you for the URL Pippin. good feed back . that was my intention behind that post .
bottom line is : from jan 2011 onwards it will be pure luck !!!!!!! I mean 50/50 chance

Hi

Many people are specifically asking about IELTS and PCC - and yes! you need to include them. Now

1) EVERY PRINCIPAL APPLICANT must submit the language test results (even if your native language in English or French) for an accredited test (currently IELTS and CELPIP for English and TEF for French) with their application (to the CIO)

I am a US citizen but went to an international school and studied French since grade school which of the exams do i have to take? French or English or both?

Please "DO NOT " mislead ppl

Instruction Guide [IMM EG7000]
Page no 39

Police certificates
All applicants must submit police certificates/clearances as part of the application process.
Note: Do not submit your police certificates to the CIO. If your application is placed into processing, you will be required to submit the police certificates to the Canadian visa office indicated on your application.

Hi Kelsey

Its great that you have the knowledge of both the languages....in the sense that you can claim an extra 8 points for this feat (a maximum total of 24 points...already got more than 1/3rd) :D :D
(1) Now it entirely depends on you ....you want to give either or both
(2) To claim extra 8 you have to give both
(3) If you are planning for both .....again it depends which one you would like to put as first official language (max. 16 points) AND second official language (max. 8 points). Its your wish (and control on the language) ;D

Hope it helped.

Hi Manshriram

For Immigration purpose your family means...... you + spouse + dependent children + children of dependent children.... That's all. Remaining all your family members will come under 'Additional Family Information' Form # IMM 5406E. In simple terms, if you are not married and are planning to immigrate...then you alone can apply. Rest of the family members have to apply separately (like you.... NOC + IELTS.... etc.) or you have to sponsor them (after you settle in Canada -that is totally a different procedure). I hope you understood. Please go through the Instruction Guide - EG7000
BTW, name is Shadab and not Shabad

Cheers, Anil
