Do I need to send Work Experience Letters of Reference for my spouse? (Applying CIO to Buffalo.)
"For the accompanying spouse or common-law partner:
- original and up-to-date letters of reference, including all details as specified above, in respect of any employment in Canada under a work permit.(italics and bold mine)
- a copy of the work permit."
From Document IMM 7048 E (08-2010) - Visa Office Specific Instructions Buffalo
As my spouse has never worked in Canada, am I correct in reading that Canadian Work Experience is the only work experience which they need documentation of for accompanying spouse?
This seems like it has changed, but as I deleted the earlier versions of this document, I have nothing to compare it to.
We just want to make sure we are reading this properly before we send in application.
Thanks in advance - You guys are a great resource!
By the way- The help line for Buffalo is a joke. You will navigate a phone tree for 10 min. to get a message that they don't answer questions on the phone, and all questions should be submitted to an email address. You will wait 2 days after submitting an email question only to receive a form email stating that they "cannot help fill out forms" and link you back to the CIC website! (Why on earth do they spend the money on the phone line and email then?) Just my rant.
