Oh gosh, it sounds like you had the same DMP as me. Mine tried to tell me it was illegal and my application would be cancelled if I did my medical in Canada and applied through the US. ::)

They also had no idea that Buffalo closed. When I mentioned that I would have been sending my application to B'lo, had it been open, they referred to all the other visa offices that I could send it to (Seattle, New York, etc...all of which don't take PR apps...frustrating!!) This was followed with the strong recommendation..insistance rather, that since I'm in Canada on a work permit that I should apply through Vegreville and that it wasn't any faster to apply outland through the States. I won't be surprised if my blood pressure comes back as elevated as this happened all before the physical.

They originally gave me the inland forms (which I didn't recognize until after the DMP notified me of this). I politely indicated that due to a communication error, I was not given the 1017 ECF, as requested. I then had to call a wonderful agent at CIC after my appointment to reassure me that I was able to get the meds done in Canada and apply through Ottawa. With this information and a few minutes of back and forth with the secretary at the office, I was finally given the 1017 ECF forms.

The rudeness of the physician and the lack of knowledge of the employees at the clinic about important immigration information makes me so disappointed that they're able to provide immigration services and make money from it. Is there a way to report complaints? I feel so bad for others having to put up with this, too.
I'd try calling CIC and letting them know. Whereabouts is this if you don't mind me asking? My husbands DMP was.........okay for the most part but got picky when it came to Buffalo/Alberta thing :-X

This is in Montreal. I can understand that perhaps 95% of the clients they have are doing an inland application so they are used to that route, but to refuse to give the proper information and forms to the other 5% is ridiculous.

I'll definitely try to communicate with CIC and let them know what's going on. The agent I spoke to was very friendly and even gave me the hotline for DMPs to call.

I can't believe I'm still dealing with this doctor's office, I thought it was over once I resolved the above issue with the visa office. But now I've realized that I was actually suppose to get a paper back from them to include in my application and they never gave me any paper other than a regular old receipt, nothing signed by the doctor.

So now how do I go about getting that copy 2 of the form I'm apparently suppose to have? Would the doctors office be able to supply one or will I have to re-do my medical?

This is such a let down, our app was all done and ready to be sent out on Tuesday and now there is yet another delay =\ Please and thank you to anyone who can help me out here.

I would try and ask the DMP. There is a copy that specifically says " to be given to the applicant", so they should be able to give that to you.
Good luck with your application, i hope everything comes together smoothly after that.

Tried contacting them today, but it's a holiday here today so they were closed. It's BC day. But I did call service canada and they told me that if for whatever reason the doctors office wont supply us with a copy then we should send all of the original receipts and attach a letter explaining why the paper is missing. Apparently, this isn't an uncommon mistake, because the woman on the phone didn't seem surprised at all. =\

Ye s- I think attaching the letter and the original receipts will be good, because the medical part only gets assessed on the second stage when your file reaches your VO... in the first stage they might check that you have done the medicals, but they don't get the results, because they mostly focus on the sponsor in the first stage, and the medicals are for the applicant. By the time it reaches your VO, your medical results will be waiting for you, and they will match them up with your file.
Good luck,
Sweden

That is definitely a relief thank you for explaining. I was worried because we've gotten wrong answers from service canada, and even from immigration lawyers so sometimes I feel like we cant trust even the most professional peoples advice on these matters =\
