Important information for work permit

Hi all I have a question my husband will be applying for his work permit in September and I will be applying for the open work permit with him.But the problem is that my passport will be expiring August next year.Can I apply for the work permit

Yah you can apply, the problem is they will not give you a visa or permit that is valid longer than the validity of your passport. So if you have time might as well renew your passport now, or before you send in the application. (Hopefully it doesn't take that long.)

Yes you can extend a work permit from within Canada. Assuming you won't have a problem getting your passport renewed from here.
