Implied Status while waiting for approval of Sponsorship?

Hello,

I am going to sponsor my wife whom I got married with in Quebec. Right now she has a visitor permit and it expires around the end of September this year. We are planning to send the application sometime around next week. Can she stay here in Canada even after the expiry of her status(implied) or we need to apply another visitor permit explaining our situation?

If you are applying inland with an OWP, she would have Implied Status after her current visitor status expires, provided the PR/OWP is not returned for any reason. Many people apply for a visitor extension as a back-up, just in case. There have been several cases on here where people have had the app returned while on Implied Status from the OWP, which meant that they were out of status.

If you are applying outland, she needs to continue to extend her visitor status.

Best thing tovdi us apply for extension here on her visa and while you submiy the sponsorship application along with application for a open work permit

Yup, I would recommend you to do it now, and apply it online, because right now even apply online, the processing times are 65 days, it used to be less than 30 days before. Once you submit the extension online, they will give you a file number right way, you become Implied Status, so you don't need to worry about anything, and ask for a year extension.

So, we are sending our sponsorship documents along with the OWP application. My wife's vsitor permit expies in two months, which is still good. Now the problem is since we are residing in Quebec we are required to apply for CAQ, however in order to get CAQ as a temporary worker you need LMO. Am I missing something? How do you apply for OWP in Quebec while you are being sponsored?

Do we have to submit 2 individual copies for each document or one is enough since it is only in one package and the same person will check this file? For examle both applications require the copies of passport.
