Hello, I'm a TFW on an open work permit that will expire in two months. I'm currently working in an skilled job in Alberta. I applied for PR through the Federal Skilled Worker program but I haven't heard back and I seriously think I was rejected.

How can I utilize "implied status" and or "restoration of status" to continue working legally after my work permit expires? This while I come up with another strategy to stay legally in Canada like, going to school or hear back from CIC regarding my PR. I feel so desperate, I really love Canada and I feel it's my home. I really want to stay but I'm so anxious as time runs out in my status. Thanks for your help.

Apply for work permit extension before 5 days of your work permit expiration date, and apply through paper application with either PNP file number or simply apply with out any file number. This will give you at least 30-50 days of legal implied status and you are qualify to work legally under implied status until you hear the response about your work permit extension.

Response - Refusal of work permit extension failing to show PNP certificate or Federal PR file number

After your work permit answer stop working the day CIC asked you do.

Now you will 90 Days of restoration period wherein you cant work but allow to stay in Canada to restore your status either by LMIA or Your PR response.
