I recently came across this article whose link is below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2009/2009-10-30.asp

The purpose of starting this topic is to highlight how the Canadian government is planning to sidetrack the FSW class in favor of Provincial and Canadian Experience class that benefits the Canadian economy the most. Apparently, the FSW class is not so much on the top priority list of CIC. Though not said in as much as words, it is clear that FSW category might be eventually phased out in favor of Canadian Class and Provincial class that benefit the Canadian economy the most. It is obvious that there is still a backlog of 425,000 applicants under FSW. On an average, Canada takes in about 240,000 and 265,000 new permanent residents every year.

What implications does it hold for applicants who applied in 2008 and 2009, especially to Buffalo office? With a backlog of 425,000 and an intake of 250,000 applicants on average, there is no way to know if 2010 will indeed prove to be a good year for 2008 and 2009 applicants.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the same, especially those of you who applied to Buffalo and fall under the 2008/2009 year category.
