Hi everyone. I have gone all around town here and made many phone calls, but I can't find anyone here (USA-WV) who will take the immigration photos I need. They take passport photos but those aren't the same. I've found some websites who will make the Canadian immigration pictures if you send in the digital photo, but are these acceptable? If not, where could I go to get the pictures taken? I've tried the post office, drugstore, professional photographers, etc. Thanks! :)

1, Some people have claimed success with Ritz Cameras, if not if a photographer can get the correct size from a digital image, that is fine.

You can try going to a photographer's studio, maybe one that advertizes passport photos, and make sure you bring in the photo specifications sheet. Tell them you want immigration photographs, and they particularly have to fit the specifications on the sheet.

That's exactly what I did, but they all said they only do US passport photos, which aren't the right size. I found a website that does them and sends them by mail, hopefully they will come out right! If all else fails, I'll get them taken next time I'm in Canada.

i went to walgreens and explained to the photographer that the photos needed were smaller than the passport size ones and they took the photos and cropped them on the computer and printed them out.

I called our Walgreens and they said no.. maybe I could get someone there to try if the website thing doesn't work out. Thanks :)

I went to Ritz Camera and they turned me down. I ended up getting it done in Toronto.

Worried about not taking a chance at the final stage and went to a photo studio, cost me a dime as they said they do it usually, it worked out well though.

CVS, Walgreens declined to do it and the local Ritz camera closed.

Hi guys,

I'm a new member, just starting this process. I've filled out all my forms and was hoping to send out my application today/tomorrow. I'm not sure whether I need to send in a picture to the CIO. To the best of my knowledge, I do not need my photo at this stage, but just wanted to make sure this was correct.

Any insights would be helpful.

Thanks!

I did mine at JC Penny Portrait Studio. They sort of did it right. They were not able to print, so they just took the photos one after the other. Same day, same pose, but not same roll of film. Pictures look as similar is can be otherwise. The lady just gave me the full photo and I cropped them at home with a ruler and scissors. Will this work? I sure hope so.
